Music

Led by professional jazz pianist Todd Hildreth, Ascension’s music is exciting and beautiful. As Lutherans our worship is “liturgical.” That is, it involves people actively in the singing, praying, and worship leadership. Communion is served every weekend.  Worship is not simply a concert and sermon, but has a distinct flow resembling the story of Christ’s life itself.

We enter to acknowledge the world’s hurts and needs,
we experience God’s forgiveness and praise Him with song and prayer,
we hear of the ministry of Christ and His help for our real needs,
we celebrate His sacraments, and
we leave to serve.

THEME SERVICES are a feature of Ascension worship. Six to nine times a year our worship will feature music and insights (and sometimes dress and food) of other cultures, including:

 African

Blues

Hispanic

Klezmer

Scottish

Cajun

Irish

Broadway

Reggae

Celtic

Dixieland Jazz

Americana
